Frequently Asked Questions

  • We serve everyone from elite professional athletes to injured geriatric patients recovering from surgery. The common theme across all our clients is a desire to make the most of their body’s capabilities. For some, that means preparing for high stakes athletic competition or setting personal bests in the gym, and for others it’s just about learning how to finally become pain free. Whatever your goals, we can give you the insights about your body and movement to help you reach them.

A good place to start is to find the Performance Assessment that best matches your needs.

  • We are the only boutique facility in Manhattan that’s dedicated solely to making the most advanced athletic performance testing equipment easily accessible to the general public. From 3D Body Scanners to Wireless VO2 Max masks and Smart Insoles, you can now get the same rich insights about your physical performance that were previously available only to pro sports teams, elite military units, and academic medical institutions.

  • All of our assessments are conducted by our expert clinicians and overseen by a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT).

At the end of your assessment a series of reports will be generated based on the specific tests you underwent. Our clinicians will walk you through the reports to be sure everything makes sense and you’ll be sent a copy electronically for your records (as well as a paper copy, if requested).

Through our affiliation with Recalibrate Physical Therapy, we also offer bespoke training and rehabilitation programs, either on-site via a traditional physical therapy arrangement or via home programs that you can perform on your own at home or your own gym.

Our clients typically leave with a far deeper understanding of their total body performance capacity, current baseline, and areas of deficiency or imbalance to focus on. It’s not uncommon for even extremely experienced competitive athletes to tell us the experience is quite literally “game changing” for them as, for the first time, they can quantify imbalances or movement patterns that have been holding back.

  • One of our goals in launching NYC Performance Lab was to democratize accessing to world-class human performance testing. Everyone with a body (which is all of us, last time we checked) deserves to know what’s working, what isn’t, and what we can do to look, feel, and perform our best.

While our clients include professional athletes, decorated MMA fighters, and CEOs, you don’t need to be paid like one to get access to the exact same services.

Our prices are EXTREMELY competitive, far less than what you would spend for similar (and usually inferior) versions of some of the same tests a major sports medicine facility.

Our services range in cost from $75 for a single 3D Body Scan to $385 for one of our hour-long personalized sport-specific assessments, which include multiple tests using advanced equipment and follow-up analysis.
